Tecumseh High School Reviews

My oldest scored in the 99th percentile of his SAT's as a result of his education at Tecumseh (and received a great deal of scholarship money because of this). My youngest, a sophomore, has had a great start to his education. The teachers care about the students much more that in most public schools. There is a real community there and I appreciate it.

I don't have children on Tecumseh H.S. I am a college recruiter. I can tell as recruiter the great caring and professional staff, counselors and teacher that this school has. They care for future of the students. In this kind of high tech society and impersonal approach to people caring makes the difference. I greatly appreciate Ms. Tally.

Tecumseh is a great school to attend because of the excellent teachers they have. Mr. Gross, Mr. Ostrowski, and Mr. McKenny are some of the finest teachers in the state. However, the administration of both the high school and district are somewhat less than stellar. Many parents feel as if their voices are not being listened to. The teachers are also being ignored in their requests for a cost of living raise. Sadly, the board members often run unopposed and are re-elected, which solve none of the problems. The teaching is amazing, but the board and administration leave something to be desired.

I feel the administrative staff is doing all it can. Parents and teachers need to work as a team with the administration. If the students see parents against administration, then of course the students won't respect the principals and the help they are trying to give to the students. The levies aren't passing because there is no community respect.

Overall, our school is great, but we need to get the community to support the school district. In order to maintain our current number of teachers, next year students will have to pay an additional $100 per sport that they play, and an additional $30-50 to be in activities such as National Honor Society, Academic Team, and any other extracurricular activity. If the levy does not pass in the spring, the following year students will have to pay even more to play, and more teachers and staff will be cut. Is that really the way we want our school district to end up? We have some of the best (in my opinion) teachers and advisors at this school, and I would hate to see any of them go.

Mr. Mckinney is a great teacher! Mr. Ostrowski is also a very good teacher The administration at this school is pathetic, they are the reason school levies aren't passing. It won't be long at this rate until the students all picket the school and refuse to go. The worst administrator of all of them is Jeff Renshaw, completely incompetent. This school would actually be a good school if the administration was changed.

Tecumseh Local is a great school. My family attented this school, and now my my daughter goes there. We live in a different district, but we have the option to be in open enrollment, we make the drive everyday from kettering. She has learned alot from the great teachers there. Keep the great work going.. thank you.

Tecumseh High school was a great place for me to attend high school. I was very involved in many activities from Student Council to the Dramatic Arts. I made many friends and have fond memories of the students, faculty, and the grounds of Tecumseh High School.
