Beavertown Elementary School Reviews

Beavertown is the best kept secret in Kettering. It is truly a 'community' approach to educating children - students, parents, and staff working together. The school has continually received an 'Excellent' rating from the State of Ohio. 'Continue to put kids first!'

I love Beavertown, the school atmosphere feels as if it is one big family. The teachers and principal truly care for my children as there own. Thanks Beavertown

My son attended Beavertown and my opinion of the school is not very good. When compared to the other elementary schools in the district I believe Beavertown is not making the grade. My son struggled through and no one seemed to care. I did not see much parent involvement in the school. I think they should do more fund raisers in order to improve the school itself. My 9 yr old stepdaughter attends JFK, if I had known the difference then my son would not have been at Beavertown. It was like stepping into a different world.

I feel that Beavertown is a good school, overall, however, there are definitely problems with some of the teachers. The grading system is extremely difficult and I have had numerous problems with one of my children's teachers. My son is very intelligent but because he felt from the beginning that no matter how hard he tried or how well he did, she would never see it as 'A' work, and he gave up because of her. I have talked with the principal and counselors about the problems and it falls on deaf ears. They promise but don't deliver. Unfortunately, my son's self esteem has suffered greatly this year because of this teacher. My other son has a wonderful teacher and has excelled because of the pride she takes in the children's strengths and she wants to be there which is very apparent.

Beavertown is an excellent school. My daughters have been attending since since kindergarten and one is in the 5th grade and the other in the 4th. The afterschool activities are wonderful. Parent involvment is excellent. They have a chess club, an art club, and Reaching Academic Potential clubs afterschool. The teachers are awesome. I am excited that my oldest is going on to middle school, but a little sad that she won't be attending Beavertown. At least I still have one still there, for 1 more year. Keep up the good work Beavertown Staff!

Beavertwon is a good school for academics; however, their extracurricular and parent involvment is very low for a quality district like Kettering.
