Pathway School of Discovery El Reviews

I too would agree with the parent that stated our principal is Exceptional. He is consistent, helpful, easy to speak with and most of all concerned with our children's education and safety. Anyone who would say different is WRONG! This school is concerned with our children's education, safety and future. I could not ask for more than what is being given, except that NHA would offer a High School. I have recommended Pathway to several friends and will continue to do so. This is an exceptional school with an extraordinary administration! Go Pathway!

My husband and I are thrilled that we found Pathway. Our daughter is excelling and thriving as a result of being at Pathway. The balance of academics and sound moral values has added to the way in which we are raising our daughter. At the beginning of the school year academically our daughter was ready, but her growth has exceeded my expectations. As for the staff and administration, I can not say enough about their professionalism and willingness to assist me with any problems that arise. The principal is EXCEPTIONAL! He will go above and beyond to meet the needs of the children and the parents. He is flexible and will always take time out of his busy schedule to talk to a parent. Mr. Kincaid is very approachable and a terrific principal. This is a GREAT school!

We've always liked Pathway for our child. He is on the Honor Roll and I've always felt safe sending our son there. However, they are really unorganized as far as school events, drop off and pick up of students. Kids are just running wild at events. Teachers will stop some parents and let others blatenly break the rules about drop offs and pick ups it's very inconsistant. The Leader, the Principle is always unprofessional. He has went as far as calling parents at their jobs and screaming at them about situations before he even gets the full story. I don't know how they select them but they obviously do not have high standards. They have been through three of four in the past four years. We will probally have to pull our student from this school because he has made this situation so uncomforable by acting so unprofesional.

My daughter is in kindergarten here at pathway and I couldn't be happier with her progress. She is reading and writing exceptionally well and is very upbeat and excited about her teacher and the activities that they are doing. We are a military family and my only regret is that we won't be able to be here for more than 2 more years - this is a great school! :o)

i'm very disapointed with pathways school of discovery way of dealing with personal problems and felt that the principal and ateacher could be more professional about perdicaments.

I am very happy with Pathway. My oldest is in the sixth grade, and I have a child who will start kindergarten in the fall, and another one two years after that. The principal is wonderful, and takes the safety and well being of all the students very seriously. The communication from my son's teachers is outstanding! If they are concerned about anything with him, they contact me right away. The only thing that I'm less than thrilled with is the parent organization, the Boosters. While they do plan wonderful events for the kids and staff, it has become kind of a closed organization, and the monthly meetings are not well-publicized so most parents don't even know about them. Perhaps that will change next school year when the current leadership changes. Overall, though, we're very happy with Pathway and are so glad we found it!

I have one phrase for this school: broken promises. I first signed my kids up because of the smaller class sizes and open parent communication. It took 2 years on the waiting list lottery before my kids got in. In the meantime, I did not know how much things had changed. What this equals to students is just another well equipped building that is overcroweded and teachers who have too many students to show they care or really get to know their students. We are changing schools next year.

My daughter is in Kindergarten and I think the uniforms, and structure is great!

We have been involved for 3 years with Pathway and love it! The academics are so much better than the school we came from. The new administration has been listening to the needs of the families and begun to address them. We have since added extracurricular activities, including Choir, sports, and Pathway University which provides opportunities for the advanced study of 5-6 topics per quarter. The PTO is struggling for membership, but continues to provide excellent wellness-based programs to support the academic and moral foundations of the school.

While this is our first year with Pathway, my daughter, husband and I are very happy with our choice. The curriculum is outstanding! Only 4 months into the school year and our kindergarten daughter is reading, and spelling extremely well. She is also doing many new things in regards to math including: counting over 300, reading a clock, identifying and creating patterns, reading and creating graphs, counting coins and understanding the value of money, and much more. In regards to science, my child has become very familiar with the seasons and why they change, the planets, the weather and many other things. In addition to the core subjects, Pathway has taught my daughter the meanings of, and how to demonstrate, respect, responsibility, gratitude, and perseverance. The staff and PTO of Pathway have made my family and I feel welcome since the day we toured the school.

There is a new principle at the school and the change has been wonderful. He is everywhere! I wish I could say the same for the Asst principle - I find he totally unhelpful. But on a good note, the teachers are wonderful. I like that they do the pillars of success where they teach lessons on respect, responsiblity, gratitude etc. The down side of the school is the lack of extracurricular activities. they did start having a limited amount of sports. I'm also not to crazy how the PTO is run. Its seems to be a big secret who does what and how.

I am a parent in a military family and as such find it hard to find a good school when we move around a lot. Pathway is fantastic! Everyone is friendly, courteous, and professional. My child absolutely loves it! He's already reading in Kindergarten!

My child has been attending this school since it opened 3 years ago. Although most of the staff are excellent I would have to say that the principle and v.p. leave something to be desired. Unfortunatly the longer the school is open the less great it becomes. The corp. that runs the school could be doing a better job. Overall this is better than most area schools.

The academics of this school act as it's shinning star. The needs of the children are assessed and then their education begins at their level and stretches them. There is music and art that act as good compliments to the learning process. In the way of sports there isn't any extracurricular, but they do provide PE and recess. The parent involvement is up to you. There is a greater need for parent involvement. The staff and the school welcome parents in any way they are willing to help.

The school is safe and clean. I have 2 children in 4th and 1 in kdg. My older ones do not like school. They have lost their motivation. My children feel the teachers are negative and overly critical when children do not master subjects fast enough. The school has strict discipline as they are trying to make the kids moral individuals they must always raise their hands even to borrow a pencil from a classmate sitting beside them and the children get away with nothing. The school is orderly in every way which is good but can stifle individuality and creativity in some respects. Parents are encouraged to get involved and are always welcome.Overall its a good school. They are trying to do a good job.
