Description:
You are invited to join us for another great year of presentations during our 2008 Aviation Heritage Speaker Series. This speakers series is designed to offer the public a variety of knowledgeable speakers addressing topics related to aviation history through engaging discussion and first-hand accounts.
This year we have three unique presenters: Darrell Collins The Miracle at Kitty Hawk; John Fleischman -- science writer; Timothy Binkley, author, archivist and curator.
On March 27, Darrell Collins, who serves as chief historian and interpreter at Wright Brothers National Memorial and is widely recognized as one of the top five authorities on the Wright brothers and early aviation history, will speak about the Wright brothers experiences at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
On July 24, John Fleischman, a member of the National Association of Science Writers who has published for the American Society for Cell Biology and in the Harvard Health Letter and Air & Space Smithsonian will talk about his experiences as a science writer at Harvard Medical School, a science broadcaster at Bostons WGBH (public radio), and a senior editor for Yankee and Ohio magazines.
On October 23, Timothy Binkley, who is the archivist and curator at United Theological Seminary in Dayton which was co-founded by Bishop Milton Wright, will speak about his forthcoming book on Religious Telescope editorials by Milton Wright.
These events are free and open to the public. Seating is on a first come, first served basis
