I'm 24 years old, I just moved to Centerville recently and I'm pretty excited about it. I love sports, music, comedy, computer games, and good tv shows. I played hockey and raced motorcycles for a while. Just bought a new car, and it's a nice change: gets way better mileage than my old Jeep. I have a great deal of difficulty writing about myself, especially in a short summary, so here are the basic facts:

I am single (divorced 10 years ago). I am just out of a 6 year relationship. It was a good one, but just sort of stopped going anywhere. I have no children, would like to have them if the right partner came along, but if not, I'm okay with that too. I am an animal lover and do have pets.

Physical fitness is important to me, and I focus on being strong and healthy. I try to exercise frequently, but it is sometimes difficult to find the time. I try to be well rounded and do a little of everything, but running is what I really enjoy.

I seem to be in a never-ending search for a suitable house to either build or purchase. Older fixer-uppers are much more appealing to me than new construction. I wouldn't mind building either, for I have some interesting ideas on home designs, but good land is difficult to find. When I shop, I shop deliberately, meaning I usually have a strong idea of what I want. I never just settle for something, if I can't find it, if I can't afford it, then I go without it.

That brings me to what I am looking for in a relationship. I love to use a quote from a great movie Some Kind of Wonderful Amanda says to Keith "Remember when I said I'd rather be with someone for the wrong reasons then alone for the right, I'd rather be right." Meaning that I am not going to be in a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship... life is short but I want that time to mean something.

I am a physician, a former runner, a newbie rock climber. I am 25 years old in spirit and 32 in reality. My name's Adam, I'm 22 and I'm simply a laid back, unpretentious guy who sees a healthy sense of humor in most everything and searches for peace all throughout life. I'm about one third quiet and introspective, two thirds the guy who opens his mouth and fires off an epic one liner, and a dash of nerd thrown in for good measure. I'm currently working manufacturing and getting back on my feet to get back into school for IT, and part of that does mean I do live with my parents as of the last few months ; it's the first (Last!) time I've been back since my 18th birthday not living independently so I'm in in a transitory phase right now, but working hard, loving what I'm doing and mindful of where I'm going, determined as all hell and living life to the fullest. I can actually say I like my job, physically demanding and routine as it can be.

I'm huge on honesty and mutual respect, and a lack of bullshit; I basically tell it like it is, for better or worse, because I feel like it's only what people owe each other. Pretension is tiring and perception's easy enough to get wrapped up in without people trying to trip things up more. Equality is a must in any relationship, and a mutual investment of care and enjoyment. I also live and let live and don't get wrapped up in other people's free choices and ideas; so long as you're not doing me or anyone else any grave wrong, go for it.

Serious stuff aside, I'm low key and easy to smile and laugh, I rarely find a person that I just don't get along with in some manner. Life's a bit easier that way.

Some people get confused about what I am saying in the above. It's really a sort of dissertation on labels. Not in the literal sense, I'm not trying to get anyone to abolish labels. Labels are rather important. For descriptions. What I mean is that we shouldn't live our labels. And we shouldn't expect others to live theirs.
